Awards and Achievements


2015-16 Pozen Nominee

The Pozen Prize, awarded by The Boston Foundation, annually  recognizes one Boston-area charter school for sustained academic excellence. CCSC is currently one of two finalists for the 2016 Pozen Prize. The school was also nominated in the 2013-14 school year.

2016 City of Cambridge Resolution

In January of 2016, the City of Cambridge  passed a resolution commending Community Charter School of Cambridge for its' excellent achievements in providing a quality education for its' students.

2015 Massachusetts DESE Commendation Recipient

The state recognizes public schools throughout the state for making dramatic academic progress with students who traditionally struggle. Among other criteria, commendation schools: rank in the top 10 percent of schools statewide for academic growth/improvement; demonstrate academic improvement for all demographic subgroups in both English and math over the most recent four years; and for high schools, demonstrate improvement in the five-year graduation rate for students over the most recent four years of data, or achieve an aggregate five-year graduation rate of 94 percent or higher for three consecutive years.

2011 EPIC Award Recipient

Established in 2006 by New Leaders for New SchoolsTM, the Eff ective Practice Incentive Community (EPIC) initiative rewards high-need urban schools showing signifi cant gains in student achievement. In exchange, schools agree to share the practices helping to drive those gains, which they do through an in-depth study of practice, aided by the EPIC team and a suite of investigation tools.
