Located in Kendall Square, Community Charter School of Cambridge (CCSC) is a tuition-free, public charter school that serves 360 students in grades 6-12 from Cambridge, Boston and the surrounding towns. Founded in 2005, CCSC boasts one of the area's premier college preparatory programs for middle and high school students.

  • This year, CCSC is one of two finalists for The Boston Foundation's Pozen Prize for Charter Schools. The City of Cambridge also passed a resolution in January to recognize CCSC for excellent achievements in providing a quality education for its students.
  • In 2015, CCSC was commended by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for high growth over the past 4 years.
  • In 2014, CCSC again achieved a Level 1 state rating. Median rates of student learning growth were among the highest in the state. 98% of 10th graders scored advanced or proficient on the ELA and math MCAS, respectively.
  • In 2013 and 2012, 100% of 10th graders at CCSC scored advanced or proficient on the ELA MCAS, earning the school a #1 ranking statewide.
  • In 2012 and 2011, 100% of 10th graders at CCSC scored advanced or proficient on the math MCAS, earning the school a #1 ranking statewide.
  • In 2011, CCSC was 1 of 14 charter schools in the U.S. to be awarded an EPIC grant for attaining the highest gains in student achievement.
  • Since 2009 (our first graduating class), 100% of our graduates have been accepted to college, over 90% to 4-year schools.

To prepare each graduate for success in college and beyond, CCSC combines high academic and behavioral standards with a supportive environment in which all students are known well. CCSC seeks dedicated, outstanding, and innovative faculty and staff to build upon our rigorous academic program and strong school culture.
