Rachel Jean-Louis was a member of the first graduating class at Community Charter School of Cambridge in 2009. She was selected as a Posse Scholar and graduated from Denison University in 2013 with a BA in Chemistry. Having spent the summer before her senior year as a teaching fellow with Uncommon Schools, Rachel began her teaching career at Leadership Prep Bedford Stuyvesant, where she taught 2nd and 4th grade for two years while also completing a Masters in Teaching at Relay Graduate School of Education. Rachel returned to CCSC in 2015 as a member of our math department. Over the past four years, she has held various leadership roles at CCSC, including as a trained Critical Friends Group facilitator, 6th Grade Level Leader, and an instructional coach where she provided additional support for new teachers. Rachel is passionate about creating a safe space where all students can learn from their mistakes. As Middle School Principal, Rachel is responsible for student support and achievement, teacher development and evaluation, family and community engagement, and maintaining a positive middle school culture in which all students can belong, grow, and achieve.
