Dear CCSC Families,
As we shared earlier this summer, our current Director of Student and Family Engagement Devin Morris will be joining the Massachusetts Charter Public School Association as their new Director of Family Engagement and Organizing. While we are incredibly sad to see him go, we are thrilled to introduce our next Director of Student and Family Engagement, Noelani Gabriel.
Ms. Gabriel is already well-known to many at CCSC through her role as Breakthrough Greater Boston’s Director of Student Services and the exceptional work she’s done throughout the Cambridge community. Prior to joining the team at Breakthrough, Ms. Gabriel taught high school English Language Arts at Roxbury Prep High School in Dorchester and piloted an after-school female leadership group focused on self-esteem and positive peer relationships. She graduated from Cornell University, earned her Master of Education from Boston University, and completed the Race, Education, and Leadership in Schools program at Harvard University Graduate School of Education’s Principals’ Center this past spring. Ms. Gabriel shared, “Throughout my time in Cambridge, I have grown to admire how scholars, families, and staff at CCSC prioritize their education. I feel grateful to have some familiar faces in the community and look forward to forming new relationships. CCSC is such a special place and I am incredibly excited to join this team. Thank you in advance for welcoming me into your community!”
We are very excited to welcome Ms. Gabriel to CCSC. A sizable group of parents, guardians, and students interviewed several finalists for this position. Noelani immediately made a positive impression, and CCSC families’ enthusiasm about her played a large role in our decision to offer her the position. Her depth of experience and commitment to supporting the holistic needs of students are clear to all who meet her. We know she will continue to cultivate a culture at CCSC where students and families feel a deep sense of belonging and love.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Becki Norris
Head of School
